Programme Info
The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in Public Relations is designed to enable students acquire profound theoretical and practical knowledge to enable them face the challenges associated with public relations issues in business and governance. To this end, emphasis is placed upon the professional education of the entire individual and in providing him/her with effective strategies to boost performance in his/her career.
Objectives
The EMBA programme in Public Relations seeks to:
- Help students acquire managerial and leadership skills, public and human relations, analytical, evaluative, qualitative and communicative skills needed for management of organisations and proper stewardship.
- Expose students to integrative, interdisciplinary and dynamic nature of business and administrative processes.
- Prepare candidates to carry out public relations duties and responsibilities in government and industrial establishments, business undertakings, statutory corporations and parastatals.
Scope
The EMBA programme in Public Relations cuts across various areas in business, government and industry. Students will complete relevant courses in business related areas in addition to project work in their areas of interest.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for the EMBA programme in Public Relations shall have the following:
- Minimum of one year working experience in the industry.
- Bachelors’ degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.
Admission is twice in a year: April and October.
Mode of Study
The mode of study for the EMBA programme in Public Relations shall be by course work, organisational case studies, annual attendance of the School’s international conference, and case project report.
Duration
The duration for the Executive MBA programme in Public Relations shall be four (4) semesters. This is a weekend programme which can be one (1) contact per month over a 5 month period for each semester.
